optimus keyboard

via this post by kybernetikos, i came across this extremely stylish keyboard: check out their FAA (frequently answered answers) page, too. in contrast to a lot of FAQs this one really answers all you ever wanted to know.

hormones (and other lame excuses)

eventually, it happened: i got reminded that i haven't posted for more than a month. bummer. it's not that i ran out of ideas. various drafts have been tumbling around in my head: HOWTOs i wanted to write about my deligently assembled collection of hilarious instructions: HOWTO make a menstruating barbie (link), HOWTO make a cheap portable espresso machine (link), HOWTO make a head-mounted water-cannon (link), HOWTO distract your blog readers... original sinsuality i wanted to write about last month's tori amos concert in zuerich, at which she stopped in the middle of a song ("sorry, i fucked it all up, let me start all over again") and threw in an intermezzo with freely invented lyrics about how this embarrassing moment reminded her of a guy who used to make fun of her as a teenager, but was bold enough to call her up for backstage passes for his new girlfriend last year ("go fuck yourself") SuSE 9.3 i wanted to write about how smoothly SuSE 9.3 installed itself on my brand new computer at work, and that kbiff now supports secure imap (about time to throw in some geeky lingo), and that bernd showed me this cool command called mmv (multiple move) which addresses my mv *.foo *.bar problem, and that amarok (the kde itunes equivalent) sucks because it crashes all the time, and that azureus (the java bittorrent client) rocks (quote jonas: "it looks like a real app, you almost can't tell that it's written in java". does he know how i'm earning my money?!?) and now for the lame excuses why i haven't written about all of this earlier:

my new camera (nikon d70s) baby my new baby (ultrasound @ 12 weeks)

no, these two are in no way related (the baby pic is not taken with the dslr and i would never call a gadget my new baby).

don't worry, this blog is not going to develop into a "how pregnancy hormones changed my life"-diary (maybe because they haven't changed my life at all: no morning sickness, no mood swings, just writing-lazyness...). but this little creature is just too important for me not to be mentioned at all.
