boxes, boxes, and more boxes. our place is a real mess at the moment:
there's still quite some work to be done and my time in front of the computer is thus rather limited (read: should be limited). apart from checking my mail and enjoying your blogs, I therefore pretty much restrict myself to browsing through my reddit recommendations. some of them are really good, and worth sharing:
- smack book pro: how to use the built in motion sensor to switch between virtual desktops (link).
- hell house movies: as part of his channel 4 documentary the root of all evil, richard dawkins visits a film crew which tries to scare viewers into believing (link).
- google: the answer to all "could you please send me the link to xy" mail (link).
- gaussian gun: 5 ball bearings and a pair of neodymium magnets (link).
- babel: the history of programming languages as a pdf (link).
- scary neighbors: what happens if the guy next door plays with his magnum (link). chances are pretty good that this won't happen with our new neighbors.
- refactoring: five truths about code optimization. a pragmatic and well written tutorial. (link).
- umlauts: how to type special characters under X (link). while the terms generic and powerful are often used by unix geeks trying to convince their m$ friends, IMHO the term ridiculous is much more appropriate here.
fuer alle deutsch-sprachigen freunde: sala publiziert seit kurzem interessante und aehnlich skurille links als "link-salz in der web-suppe" hier.
