fear of the word yellow

my mum usually works as a teacher, but is currently on training leave. as part of a project she has to do, she wanted to write about her aviophobia (fear of flying). so she recently boarded a plane for the very first time in her life — just to find out that flying doesn't scare her in the slightest. one problem less to worry about.

of course her inexistent phobia doesn't really make an interesting project, so she decided to write about fears in general. we had a quick chat about this topic lately and she asked me about my personal fears. I guess I am mostly scared of losing people I love, quite scared of heights, and moderately scared of spiders. apart from that, I couldn't really think of any other fears.

my mum gave me this (german) and this (english) impressive phobia list. here's an excerpt:

ataxophobia: fear of disorder
aulophobia: fear of flutes
chronophobia: fear of time
epistemophobia: fear of knowledge
allodoxaphobia: fear of opinions
euphobia: fear of hearing good news
barophobia: fear of gravity
prosophobia: fear of progress
apotemnophobia: fear of persons with amputations
xanthophobia: fear of the color yellow or the word yellow

I am totally stunned by how difficult life could be.
